The Molecular Core is an institutionally supported service that is operated by faculty members with input from a faculty oversight committee and HCRAC. It is important for the user to appreciate that the success of this facility depends on constructive input. Our policies and procedures have evolved by trial and error in response to perceived or requested demands from the user base and oversight committee. However if you know of a vendor, procedure or policy that will increase our effectiveness, please let us know so that the entire faculty will benefit from your knowledge.
You can make suggestions or register grievances in a number of ways:
Core staff
They can handle minor issues of order status or quality of a service. Please make this interaction professional and not personal. They do have a thick skin, but off hand and careless remarks tend to hurt morale. Just remember that they are carrying out established procedures.
Faculty administration
Contact Molecular Core Director for administrative issues that cannot be resolved by the staff.
Faculty Oversight Committee
One faculty representative from each research domain within the UConn Health has been chosen to represent your interests at the annual oversight committee meeting. This is the individual you need to work through to institute a policy change or new activity by the core.
